To be a gallant soldier bold
Upon a distant shore
to see the Asian mountains old
Or hear the ocean's roar
To stand astride a tossing deck
above a roiling sea
to heed the grey horizons call
to seek eternity
To be a monk upon a mount
or kneeling in some cave
to swear my life my hope my soul
to hold some barricade
To forsake all else for all of time
to laugh at death at last
To be eternal, bright and free
One with the wind the sky the sea
To Love Complete, and joyfully
that is all I ask.
